Her surname, Fugit, has its origins in old English, with the first recorded Fugit born in 1689 in England.
Born to a family with a rich cultural heritage, Lanette's father, Larry, is a descendant of various European nationalities, including English, Scottish, Welsh, Manx, Irish, French, Dutch, German, and Italian, as well as Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and American Indian. Her mother, Linda, hails from a mix of French, Swedish, German, and Irish ancestry. As the youngest of six siblings, Lanette's upbringing was filled with a sense of family and community.
Lanette's educational pursuits took her to the SLC College in Utah, where she studied theater and business, later transferring to SMU Dallas, Texas, to further her knowledge in these fields. Her diverse experiences have led her to reside in various locations, including Los Angeles, Hawaii, New York, Utah, Texas, Nevada, and she has also traveled to Canada, Mexico, the Virgin Islands, and Aruba.
From a young age, Lanette was drawn to the world of dance, studying ballet and karate, and continued to pursue her passion for dance throughout her high school years, alongside sports and singing. Her love for music remains a significant part of her life. Lanette's journey as a model began at a young age, and she went on to become Ms. Hawaiian Tropic of Utah. As a working actress and model, she has booked numerous projects in film, commercial, print modeling, and acting.
Lanette's acting career started in theater at the SLCC College, where she honed her craft. She later moved to Los Angeles and then Texas, where she landed roles in film, television, national commercials, national spokesperson, emcee/presenter, TV host, voice-over, print campaigns, and cover magazines.
