The film's international recognition continued to grow as it was showcased at prominent festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, and AFI Festival, garnering widespread praise from both critics and viewers.
Locally, A HARD DAY received numerous prestigious awards and nominations, with Kim Seong-hun taking home the Best Director award at the 51st Grand Bell Awards, the 1st Korean Film Producers Association Awards, the 6th KOFRA Film Awards, the 20th Chunsa Film Art Awards, and the 51st Baeksang Arts Awards. Additionally, he received the Best Screenplay award at the 15th Busan Film Critics' Awards and the 35th Blue Dragon Film Awards.
Following the success of A HARD DAY, Kim Seong-hun's next film, THE TUNNEL, was also a box office hit, with lead actor Ha Jung Woo taking home the Best Actor Prize at the 22nd Chunsa Film Awards.
In 2019, Kim Seong-hun collaborated with Netflix to create the big-budget zombie mystery drama, KINGDOM, which became a global success. The second season of the series is set to premiere in March 2020.
Currently, Kim Seong-hun is filming KIDNAP, a new project starring Ha Jung Woo, in Morocco.
