Leon Akida Burns, professionally known as Kida The Great, is a remarkable 14-year-old dancer and choreographer hailing from Sacramento.
From a tender age of four, Kida learned the art of dance under the guidance of his big brother, and has since become an integral part of several esteemed groups, including Family First Crew, The Art Of Teknique, and Chapkidz, who are now HHI World Champions. Furthermore, he has established his own squad, New Generation, which he has carefully curated and nurtured to perfection.
Kida's motto, inherited from his father, is "keep praying, keep planning, keep pushing," which serves as a constant source of motivation and inspiration. Although 2014 was a challenging year, marked by the loss of his father, it was also a year of triumph, as he won the internet-breaking battle that garnered millions of views and was re-posted by thousands, thereby expanding his fan base.
Throughout his journey, Kida has received numerous accolades, including being named Most Inspirational Dancer and Best Kid Dancer at the Sacramento Music Festival, as well as winning several other contests and events in his hometown. His recent victory on So You Think You Can Dance: Next Generation was particularly noteworthy, as he was partnered with the talented So You Think You Can Dance All-Star, Fik-Shun.
Kida's tireless dedication has enabled him to appear on esteemed platforms such as Ellen, The Queen Latifah Show, Rachael Ray, and Battlefield America, as well as in various commercials and music videos. With his dance workshop tour, he aims to spread his passion and expertise city by city, with the ultimate goal of taking his workshop global.
