Announcer and host on early television in Los Angeles, California, with a remarkable career spanning various television stations, including W6XYZ and its successor, KTLA, as well as KTTV. In a groundbreaking moment, Hetherington made history by reporting live from the scene of the explosion of an electroplating plant on Pico Boulevard on February 27, 1947, claimed to be the first-ever remote live TV coverage of a breaking news event.
