Karl Lieffen

German character actor, renowned for his captivating performances on screen, television, and stage, embarked on his illustrious career after receiving rigorous training in Brunswick. He made his stage debut in Freiburg, subsequently appearing in Frankfurt and, since 1975, in Munich. Following a series of notable film roles since 1949, he landed his sole leading role in "The Kidnapping of Miss Nylon" in 1959. As his career progressed, he became a prolific supporting actor, featuring in over fifty movies. Notably, renowned director Billy Wilder entrusted him with the pivotal role of Chauffeur Fritz in "One, Two, Three" (1961),opposite Hollywood legend James Cagney. He also starred in several German television serials, most notably as Inspector Janot in the long-running series "Dem Täter auf der Spur" (1967-1973) and in "Lutz & Hardy" (1994). His most iconic and exceptional performance was as Vater Kempowski in "Tadellöser & Wolff" (1975). Furthermore, he made his final appearance as a guest star in the final episode of the popular series "Derrick" in 1998.
