Karen Everett is a renowned documentary Story Consultant, boasting an impressive track record of success as an award-winning documentary filmmaker. As the founder of New Doc Editing, she has had the privilege of assisting numerous filmmakers in structuring their documentaries for esteemed platforms such as PBS, HBO, and Sundance, among others.
Beyond her expertise in documentary editing, Karen's business also provides directors with access to a talented pool of documentary editors.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Karen has also had the distinction of teaching documentary editing for 18 years at the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley, which has been recognized as the number one-ranked documentary program in America by "Documentary Magazine".
Karen is also a published author, having written the book "Documentary Editing". Her own filmmaking endeavors have yielded six documentaries, including the award-winning PBS biography "I Shall Not Be Removed: The Life of Marlon Riggs" and "American Visionary: The Story of Barbara Marx Hubbard".
