Kaila York, a seasoned film professional, ventured into entrepreneurship after years of experience at a top talent agency, studio, and production companies. She founded her own production company, Headlong Entertainment, to bring her passionate storytelling to life. York assembled a talented team of filmmakers and established a reputation for producing high-quality content across various genres. Her impressive production portfolio boasts over 15 films, including some she co-wrote, filmed on locations worldwide, and secured distribution for at major international film festivals and television networks.
As a director, York has helmed eleven feature films over the past six years, showcasing her versatility in both thrillers and romantic comedies. Her projects have premiered on networks such as Lifetime, UpTV, and Netflix, and she has had the privilege of working with comedy legends like Cheri Oteri and icons like Vivica A. Fox.
York's dedication to promoting the film industry is evident through her involvement in leading panels on independent filmmaking, film financing, successful pitching, and other topics at various film festivals. She has been invited to speak at esteemed events such as the Savannah Film Festival, Willamette Writers Conference, Hedgebrook Masterclass, and Fairhope Film Festival.
In addition to her industry contributions, York serves as a member of the advisory board of the SCADTVfest, hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). As a mentor, she provides guidance to emerging talent and fosters the growth of young filmmakers.
