Julia Faye West was born on November 4th, 1985, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she began taking acting classes for stage artists at a very young age, specifically in preschool and kindergarten. This marked the beginning of her lifelong journey in the performing arts, which would continue for over a decade in the Midwest.
Throughout her childhood and adolescence, Julia participated in numerous plays and Improv ComedySportz on stage, honing her skills and developing her passion for acting. Her parents, who were working-class students, divorced when she was just five years old. In a 2011 interview, Julia reflected on the lessons she learned from her parents, saying that they taught her the importance of tenacity and perseverance, citing their ability to follow their dreams despite the challenges they faced as a result of their divorce.
Julia's mother, who had become a national motivational speaker and published author by the time Julia was nine years old, played a significant role in her early life. The two co-authored children's and motivational books, and Julia performed on stage, television, and radio shows over 100 times as a motivational speaker alongside her mother. Due to their frequent traveling and work schedule, Julia was home-schooled during this period, receiving private coaching from instructors at the Milwaukee Performing Arts Center.
By the time Julia was 18 years old, she was living independently and had begun to pursue her dreams as a performing artist. After a brief stint in Arizona, she moved to Los Angeles, where she worked odd jobs to support herself while acting on television shows and feature films. Julia became a member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and continued to hone her craft through classes and coaching at institutions such as USC, Howard Fine, The Actors Studio West, Actors Workshop Studios, The Aquila/Morong Studio, and ongoing education.
Today, Julia resides in Los Angeles and has spent several years focusing on raising her young son, who has begun to participate in performances, appearances, and charity work alongside his mother.
