Born in the vibrant city of New York, J.P. Davis embarked on an international upbringing in France, where he would later draw inspiration from his diverse cultural experiences. Davis's academic pursuits led him to Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where he earned a degree in International Affairs, further solidifying his global perspective.
With the guidance of his esteemed mentor, the illustrious Oscar-winning author William Goldman, J.P. made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Davis's determination and creativity soon paid off as he began to make a name for himself in Hollywood.
His original screenplay, Fighting Tommy Riley, was produced independently on a modest budget of $100,000, showcasing Davis's ability to craft compelling stories that resonate with audiences. His subsequent original screenplay, Violence of Action, caught the attention of Paramount Pictures, which released the film under the title The Contractor in March 2022. Directed by Tarik Saleh and produced by Basil Iwanyk and 30WEST, the film starred Chris Pine as a Special Forces veteran struggling to survive against a ruthless private contracting organization.
Davis's impressive filmography also includes the forthcoming action thriller The Plane, starring Gerry Butler as a commercial pilot who must use his wits and bravery to save his passengers after a forced landing in a hostile war zone. Lionsgate will distribute the film, which was directed by Jean-Francois Richet and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Marc Butan.
In addition to his work in film, Davis is currently writing an original thriller for MadRiver and Nomad, with acclaimed director Jeremy Saulnier attached to helm the project. For television, Davis is developing an untitled series in collaboration with filmmaker Gavin O'Connor.
