Joyce Giraud, a renowned Puerto Rican actress, model, film and television producer, and philanthropist, was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.
At the tender age of 16, Joyce graduated from high school and began her modeling career to help her mother pay for her university studies. She simultaneously attended the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, where she completed two Bachelor of Arts degrees by the age of 19, one in Social Work and one in Special Education, making her one of the youngest dual graduates in the institution's history.
Joyce's modeling career flourished, and she became one of Puerto Rico's top models, appearing in numerous national and international campaigns. Her beauty and charm earned her multiple beauty pageant titles, including Miss Universe Puerto Rico, where she represented her homeland in the Miss Universe Pageant and finished as second runner-up.
The following year, Joyce wrote a book titled "Joyce, Dreams and Realities," and she later moved to Miami, Florida, where she continued to excel in her modeling career, winning the Miss Venus International Model Search. Joyce's impressive resume also includes being the only undefeated model in the history of Destination Stardom, also known as Star Search.
It was during this time that Joyce discovered her passion for acting when director Vicente Castro cast her as the lead in his film "Coralito Tiene Dos Maridos," a remake of Sonia Braga's "Dona Flor y Sus Dos Maridos." Her outstanding performance received rave reviews, and she decided to take the leap to Los Angeles to pursue her newfound passion.
In film, Joyce has had notable roles in David Fincher's "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Latin Dragon," "Miss Castaway," "Slayer," and "Jeepers Creepers 3." She has also made appearances in TV shows such as "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "Heist," "Joey," "Tyler Perry's House of Payne," and NBC's "Siberia."
As a producer, Joyce has executive produced the film "Shadow People" and the TV show "Siberia," and she is credited as co-producer on the upcoming film "Back Roads," based on the bestselling novel.
