Michael Woodward and Max Barron, the creative minds behind Jones, are a filmmaking duo based in London and Mexico City. They have made a significant impact in the commercial industry, directing campaigns for prominent brands such as Mercedes, Samsung, Uber, McCoys, Sky, Lucozade, Head, and Emirates.
Their feature film, Everyone's Going To Die, was written and directed by Woodward and Barron, and was made on a budget of £65,000. The film received widespread recognition, winning a Special Jury Prize at the Dinard Film Festival and the CICAE Art Cinema Award at the Mons Film Festival. It was also nominated for Best British Feature at the Raindance Film Festival and for the Michael Powell Award at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
In addition to their feature film work, Jones have also made a name for themselves in the world of short films. Their short film, Three Meetings Of The Extraordinary Committee, premiered at the 2021 Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and is longlisted for the 2022 BAFTA for Best British Short. Outside of their work with Jones, Barron has co-written the acclaimed Swedish series Moscow Noir, which was nominated for best drama series at the 2019 Monte Carlo Television Festival. He is currently the head writer on the 2021 series Hostage.
Woodward has also worked on a number of short and long film projects, including the feature documentary The Climb, which premiered at the 2017 London Film Festival.
