Jonathan West initiated his acting career in July 2009, when he was cast in the Detroit-based independent film, "Happy Holiday", as the character 'Tim, Sr.' under the direction of Horizon Films, which was written by Harry Arnold and co-directed by Samuel Long and Caroline Rankin.
He subsequently made his theatrical debut in December 2009 at 1515 Broadway in Detroit, portraying the character 'Jonathan Lewis' in MLB Entertainment's "Shades of War", which was penned by Dara Harper and directed by David Harper.
Having already made his debut in New York earlier that year, Jonathan was invited to reprise his role as 'Jonathan Lewis' in October 2010 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, this time taking on the lead role of 'Samuel Francis'.
Throughout the next few years, Jonathan collaborated with various independent production companies on both short and feature-length films, including performing as the lead, 'Marcus Duney Smalls', in WCT Entertainment's "Lovers and Friends", which was written by Camara Davis and directed by Anthony Anderson.
Additionally, he worked with numerous theatre companies throughout Michigan, before being given the opportunity to sign with Productions Plus / The Talent Shop, an agency based in Michigan that also represents artists in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
This marked the beginning of Jonathan's professional acting career, which he commenced full-time in August 2013. Since then, he has appeared on stage and screen in productions spanning from California to New York to Virginia.
