John Ward's journey into the world of show business began at the tender age of 12, when his younger sister Jennifer was chosen as the photo double and stand-in for Drew Barrymore in the 1984 film adaptation of Stephen King's novel "Firestarter", which was shot in his native Wilmington, North Carolina. This initial exposure to the acting world sparked a lifelong passion within John, leading him to secure several small acting roles throughout the years that followed.
Fast-forward to 1998, John made his directorial debut with the film "Enchanted", a project he not only directed but also wrote, produced, and starred in. Despite its initial limited release, the film went on to achieve cult status and continues to air on cable to this day. Building on this early success, John continued to write and direct feature films, with a total of 11 projects under his belt to date.
In 2013, John wrote, produced, and directed the film "Heart of the Country", which was based on the 2012 novel of the same name, which he also authored. In addition to his work as a filmmaker, John serves as the President of Bay Ridge Films, Inc.
