John Neville's professional journey took a significant turn in his early sixties, when renowned director Terry Gilliam chose him to play the lead role in the iconic film The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, released in 1988. Despite the film's financial underperformance, Neville's outstanding performance and prominent role in this major production sparked a surge in his career, paving the way for a plethora of opportunities in feature films and television.

As his fame grew, a new generation of audiences came to recognize him for his recurring role in the highly acclaimed television series The X-Files, which premiered in 1993, and later for his portrayal of the enigmatic character known as "The Well-Manicured Man" in the 1998 feature film adaptation.

Prior to his rise to fame, Neville made the decision to emigrate to Canada in 1972, ultimately obtaining Canadian citizenship. This significant move marked a new chapter in his life, allowing him to explore new artistic avenues and contribute to the Canadian cultural landscape.
