John's fascination with speed and thrill began when he started driving a rally car, and he has been trying to match that experience ever since. He loves the movement and fluidity of speed, which he also finds in activities like skiing, mountain biking, sailing, and flying. In his spare time, he races motorbikes and has worked with eight World Champions.
John taught himself to record racing engines using microphones designed for drum session recordings. He also specializes in on-board photography and has done this during the Le Mans 24 hour race as part of a race team. He has filmed stunt pilot Mark Jefferies using his technique and has also captured high-speed skiing, rally driving, touring cars, and Le Mans winning cars for Jaguar Heritage Trust.
Throughout his career, John has directed and produced numerous films and documentaries. He has worked on a range of projects, including a feature film project with BBC Films, a documentary on the TT races, and a film on the Le Mans 24 hour race. He has also co-directed several documentaries, including "Madness in the Desert" and "Madness on Wheels".
John has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including a BAFTA for "Grand Prix the Killer Years" and a Grierson Award nomination for "Deadliest Crash". He has also won several other awards, including the 42 Under 42 Award for Entrepreneurship and the BBC Top Gear Film of the Year award.
In addition to his work in film and television, John has also pursued his passion for flying. He has qualified as a seaplane pilot and has even taken part in the Midland Classic motorcycle rally, where he came second.

He has also worked on several films, including two projects with Roger Corman's "Concorde Anois" in Galway.
