John Duff, also known as Big John Duff, was born on December 31st, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. As a child, he relocated with his family to Tustin, California, before eventually moving to New Mexico to pursue his passion for college football.
Before embarking on a career as an actor, stuntman, and running double, John Duff played for the Los Angeles Raiders, a professional American football team, from 1993 to 1994. He wore jersey number 84 and played the positions of Tight End and Defensive End, appearing in five games over the course of two seasons.
John's brother, Jamal Duff, is also an actor and American Football player, born on March 11, 1972. After retiring from football, John Duff transitioned to a career in acting, serving as a running double for Tommy 'Tiny' Lister, Jr.'s Klaang in the Star Trek: Enterprise pilot episode "Broken Bow". He doubled Lister during the chase in the cornfield, which was filmed on location in Bakersfield on June 12th and 13th, 2001.
John Duff has appeared in numerous films alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, including the action comedy "The Rundown" in 2003, the comedy "The Game Plan" in 2007, and the science fiction remake "Race to Witch Mountain" in 2009.
