John Cann is a renowned innovator with over 30 years of experience in the film industry. As an actor, stunt performer, and stunt coordinator, he has appeared in over 100 feature films and TV shows, including popular titles such as "Alamo", "Machete", "Hoodlum", "Batman Forever", "Tango and Cash", and "The Walking Dead".
With a background in stunt work, John has performed high-stakes stunts, including a notable 4th-story window jump for "Walker: Texas Ranger". He has also written, edited, and published three editions of "The Stunt Guide", an internationally recognized standard for the stunt business.
John's commercial work includes a range of notable clients, from "Miller Genuine Draft Light" to the "Indiana Lotto". In addition to his stunt work, John has written screenplays, numerous song lyrics, and has directed and produced several episodes of the Christian children's program "The Children's Monster News".
As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, John has served on the board of directors, the National League of Screen Actors' Guild Stunt Performers, and the DFW SAG Council. He has also been recognized as a charter member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Stunts peer group and the World Stunt Academy.
In his personal life, John is a skilled martial artist, holding a 2nd-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and proficiency in Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, and other disciplines. He is also an accomplished athlete, having been ranked in the top ten in the nation as a Freestyle wrestler and a 3-time AAU State Champion.
Before pursuing his stunt career, John worked as a salesman for a fireplace shop and later as the rental manager and salesman for Scuba Duba Dive, where he honed his organizational skills. He eventually moved to Dallas to work on "Walker: Texas Ranger" with Chuck Norris and take advantage of the growing film industry in Texas.
John's passion for his work is evident, and he credits God with his success. With a strong work ethic and a commitment to his craft, John Cann continues to make a name for himself in the stunt community.
