Joaquin Garay III, a native Southern Californian, embarked on his acting journey at the tender age of four. Born into an entertainment family, his father, Joaquin Garay, was a renowned entertainer and radio personality in the 1930s and 1940s, notable for lending his voice to Panchito in the Disney film The Three Caballeros (1944).
As he grew older, Joaquin III's career flourished, with appearances in over 100 commercials and a stint at Disney, where he starred in Herbie Goes Bananas (1980). The comedy bug bit him several years later, and he went on to perform on numerous stages throughout Southern California, including The Groundlings, Improv Olympics, The Ice House, Flappers, The Comedy Store, and The Laugh Factory.
Throughout the years, he has written and performed many sketch comedy shows in Los Angeles, which eventually led to a writing and performing role on SiTV (now Nuvo). His work on Unacceptable Behavior (2006) earned a NAMIC Vision award nomination for Best Comedy.
Joaquin III's theatrical career has also been marked by notable performances, including lead roles in productions of Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple" and multiple runs of Ray Bradbury's "The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit", during which he had the privilege of working directly with the legendary author before his passing.
A constant presence in the entertainment industry, Joaquin III continues to work on various projects, and audiences may soon catch him in the upcoming film Billy Knight, where he had the honor of collaborating with one of his idols, Al Pacino.
When not acting, directing, producing, or teaching, Joaquin III can be found doing what he loves to do. He resides in the Los Angeles area with his wife and daughter, Carmina Garay, who has followed in her family's footsteps, carrying on the tradition of entertainment excellence.
