Jimmy Bangley, a native of the tight-knit community of Kingsboro, received his high school diploma from Suffolk High School in 1974. His parents, Mary Frances and James Bangley, gifted their son, who had developed a passion for acting as a child, with a trip to California to celebrate his graduation.
Although he returned home for several months, Bangley made the decision to relocate to the West Coast the following year to pursue a career in acting. His mother, Mary Frances Bangley, recalled that every year he spent on the West Coast, he grew to love it more and more, driven by his ambition to succeed on stage and screen.
During his years on the West Coast, Bangley appeared in numerous theatrical productions and comedy clubs, as well as several films, including "Rollercoaster" and Faye Dunaway's "The Yellow Bird" in 2001. He was likely more well-known, however, for his expertise in Hollywood memorabilia and film costumes.
Since the early 1990s, Bangley has appeared on over 200 network television programs, representing Hollywood memorabilia and film costumes. Tragically, he passed away on December 8th, 2004, due to a heart attack.
Bangley's sister, Mary Ann Edwards of Ivor, noted that his research into the silver screen stars of the past has been documented in various forms of media, including magazines, books, television, and the Internet.
