Born on a sunny summer day, June 19, 1971, in the charming city of White Plains, New York, James Townsend entered the world to loving Irish immigrant parents, James and Delia. Growing up with a strong sense of community, James began his educational journey at Archbishop Stepinac High School, where he honed his skills and developed a passion for track and field, a passion that would stay with him throughout his life.
Upon graduating from Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1989, James took the next step in his academic journey by enrolling at Fordham University. It was during his time at Fordham that James continued to pursue his love of track and field, competing at the collegiate level. In 1993, James graduated from Fordham University, armed with a degree and a wealth of experience in the world of track and field.
Following his graduation, James began his professional journey in the world of news. He started out in local news at Fox, where he cut his teeth and learned the ins and outs of the industry. From there, he made the move to CBS, where he worked in both local and network news in the bustling city of New York.
As James continued to grow and develop as a journalist, he began to look for new challenges and opportunities. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for film. He landed an internship at The Shooting Gallery, a film production company, and began to learn the ins and outs of the film industry. And so, James Townsend's journey in the world of film began, a journey that would take him to new and exciting places.
