Born and raised in Freehold, New Jersey, the birthplace of the legendary Bruce Springsteen, Rosen's passion for filmmaking can be traced back to his early days, specifically to the 8mm video camera he wielded at the tender age of 12.
Following his graduation from Emerson College, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in writing, Rosen embarked on his filmmaking journey, penning, helming, and inadvertently starring in his debut feature film, "The Art of Being Straight." Released theatrically and on DVD via Regent Releasing, the film garnered widespread critical acclaim, with positive reviews published in esteemed publications such as the New York Times, Variety, and Campus Circle, among others. Moreover, "The Art of Being Straight" won several prestigious awards, cementing Rosen's reputation as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
Rosen's sophomore effort, "The Jazz Funeral," boasted an impressive cast, featuring James Morrison ("24"),Bobby Campo ("The Final Destination 3D"),Maiara Walsh ("Switched at Birth"),and Dee Wallace ("E.T."). After premiering at Dances With Films and the Big Bear International Film Festival, where it took home a Grand Jury Prize, "The Jazz Funeral" was released on video-on-demand in 2017.
