Jerzy Kawalerowicz, a renowned Polish filmmaker, was born on January 19, 1922, in Gwozdziec, a small town situated within the Stanislawowskie region of Poland, which is currently known as Hvizdets, Ukraine. This talented director and writer left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, with some of his most notable works including the 1959 film "Night Train", the 1961 film "Mother Joan of the Angels", and the 1977 film "Death of a President". Throughout his illustrious career, Kawalerowicz was married three times, first to the talented actress Lucyna Winnicka, then to Maria Güntner, and finally to Malgorzata Dipont. Unfortunately, Jerzy Kawalerowicz passed away on December 27, 2007, at the age of 85, in Warsaw, the capital city of Poland's Mazowieckie region.
