Jeno Hodi, Founder and Managing Director of the Budapest Film Academy, is a renowned American-Hungarian filmmaker, writer, and producer. His impressive educational background includes a Master's Film Degree from Columbia University, New York, where he studied under the guidance of esteemed film professionals such as Milos Forman, Brian De Palma, Frank Daniel, John Avildsen, and Dusan Makavejev.
Jeno's academic achievements are remarkable, as he was the first student in Columbia University's history to write, direct, and produce a 35mm feature-length film while studying in its graduate film program.
As a filmmaker, Jeno received extensive training in Los Angeles under the tutelage of world-renowned acting teachers, including Milton Katselas and Stella Adler. He was also a member of the writers/directors unit of the Actor's Studio.
During his time in the US, Jeno wrote, directed, and produced a dozen feature and short films. Upon his return to Hungary, he recognized the need for a film school that teaches the study of film as a business and provides comprehensive training. In partnership with Eötvös Loránd University, Jeno founded the Budapest Film Academy, which became the study abroad provider for Loyola Marymount University in 2016.
Under the Budapest Film Academy, Jeno produced over 40 short films, many of which have won international awards. He also wrote and directed three short films that have garnered over 100 film awards. Jeno compiled these short films into an existentialist anthology titled 'Skating on the Razor's Edge'.
Currently, Jeno is in development and preproduction for his new film, 'Beneath a Silent Sky', which takes the viewer to the war-torn front line of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. This film is a poignant tale of personal transformation and indomitable spirit forged in the crucible of war.
