Jeffrey Gee Chin, a creative force to be reckoned with, hails from Marin County. He brings to life the untold stories of immigrant pioneers who ventured to the United States in the early 20th century.
In 2012, he completed his first narrative short film, Lil Tokyo Reporter, which boasts an impressive cast, including Academy Award-Winner Chris Tashima as Civil Rights Leader Sei Fujii. The film has garnered an astonishing 21 awards and has been screened in partnership with the U.S. State Department in Seoul, Fukuoka, Guangzhou, and Beijing.
Jeffrey's impressive résumé also includes editing an Emmy-Nominated SFGovTv episode, VFX Supervising an Academy-Nominated Student Short "Drone", and serving as 2nd-Unit Director and Visual Effects Supervisor on the feature film adaptation of Actors Anonymous (2017).
For three years, Jeffrey collaborated with the renowned Director John Singleton, working on commercials and television shows, including Showtime's "Billions" and FX's "Snowfall". During this period, Singleton mentored Jeffrey in his process of bringing under-represented communities to the forefront of media.
Jeffrey's directing credits also include the Indian feature film Mosagallu, a heist film that tells the true story of two siblings who scammed America out of over $381 million. This production marks one of the first U.S.-Tollywood Co-Productions and features some of India's most celebrated stars, including Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, and Vishnu Manchu. The film earned over $5 million at the box office.
Jeffrey has also written an award-winning biography on Sei Fujii, entitled "A Rebel's Outcry", which won two gold medal prizes from the 91st California Book Awards, the 26th Independent Publisher's Book Awards, and received an honorable mention from the Writer's Digest Independent Publishing awards.
Most recently, Jeffrey directed an international campaign for K-pop band BLACKPINK's Born Pink album release.
