Janna Fassaert, a talented actress, was born in Naarden, the Netherlands. When she was just 8 years old, she embarked on a journey to South Africa with her parents, older brother, director Tom Fassaert, and younger sister, actress Noortje Fassaert. This new chapter in her life marked the beginning of her international experience, which would shape her artistic development in the years to come.
Janna spent the next 6 years in South Africa, absorbing the local culture and language. When she turned 14, she and her family made the decision to return to the Netherlands, marking the end of her childhood in Africa.
After her return, Janna enrolled in the prestigious Dutch Theatre School in Maastricht, where she honed her craft for 4 years. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she landed the lead role in the Golden Globe-awarded production "Bitches," followed by numerous other shows, including "Ugly Betty."
Her international breakthrough came when she was invited by renowned acting coach Ivana Chubbuck to participate in her masterclass in Los Angeles. Janna also had the opportunity to study with Joyce Hiller Piven, mother of actor Jeremy Piven.
Janna's big-screen debut came with the feature film "Couples Retreat" (2009),directed by Peter Billingsley, in which she played the role of masseuse Gert in a few hilarious scenes alongside Jon Favreau. The film premiered at the Mann Village Theatre in Los Angeles on October 5th, 2009.
In the summer of 2009, Janna landed the lead role of marine biologist Skylar Shane in the international action-packed adventure film "Amphibious Creature of the Deep" (2010),directed by Brian Yuzna. She also worked on a documentary called "Never Neverland" during the summer of 2010, shot in South Africa for the production company Liquid World Wide.
Recently, Janna has been working on the hit comedy show "Easy to Assemble" with Justine Bateman and Craig Bierko, created by Ileana Douglas and directed by Michael Kang.
