Jane Allsop's life began in Oxford, England, where she was born, before her family relocated to the United States for several years. Upon their return to Melbourne, the family settled in the eastern suburbs, and Jane started taking drama classes at the tender age of nine.
As she grew older, Jane's passion for the performing arts only intensified, and at the age of 13, she attended her first audition, landing a role in a Wedgewood Pie commercial. Interestingly, this same commercial marked the beginning of Stephen Curry's career, and nearly two decades later, they would work together on the film "The King".
After completing her secondary education, Jane pursued a Visual and Performing Arts Degree at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts. Throughout her career, she has consistently worked in various television programs, including guest roles in "Neighbours", "State Coroner", "Kangaroo Palace" TV movie, "Halifax f.p III: Afraid of the Dark", "Lano and Woodley", and "Blue Heelers".
However, it was in 1999 that Jane landed her breakout role as Constable Jo Parrish in the Seven Network's hit drama "Blue Heelers", a position she held for an impressive five years, completing a total of 200 episodes.
Following her success in "Blue Heelers", Jane went on to secure roles in various projects, including a regular role on "Last Man Standing", a four-part series of "MDA" alongside Vince Colosimo, and the role of Noeline Brown in "The King".
In the latter half of 2010, Jane's versatility as an actress was showcased as she appeared in multiple projects simultaneously. She starred in the film "Matching Jack", which was released in cinemas, and had roles in the TV series "Tangle" on Foxtel Showcase, "Rush" on Channel 10, and "Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer Was Here" on the Nine Network, playing the character Carmel Arthur.
