James McEachin's remarkable life journey began on May 20, 1930, in the charming town of Rennert, North Carolina. At the tender age of 18, he took the courageous step of joining the US Armed Forces, serving valiantly in the Korean War, where he earned numerous medals of valor, including the prestigious Purple Heart and Silver Star.
Following his military service, McEachin embarked on a diverse career path, initially serving as a policeman and then a firefighter. He later relocated to California, where he transitioned into the music industry as a record producer. However, his creative pursuits soon led him to explore the world of acting, and he spent many years honing his craft in film and television.
McEachin's thirst for artistic expression only intensified, and he took a hiatus from acting to focus on his literary talents, becoming an award-winning author and producer of audiobooks. In 2005, he was appointed as a US Army Reserve Ambassador, utilizing his platform to inspire and educate soldiers, veterans, and Americans nationwide.
In 2006, McEachin produced the poignant film short, Old Glory, a heartfelt tribute to the soldier, veteran, and patriot in each of us. Two years later, he premiered his one-man play, Above the Call; Beyond the Duty, at the esteemed John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. The play has since been performed at various esteemed venues, including Casa Manana in Ft. Worth, TX, Brentwood Theater in Los Angeles, CA, and Merle Reskin Theatre in Chicago, IL.
Today, McEachin resides in Southern California with his loving wife and their three grown children, who have undoubtedly been inspired by their father's unwavering dedication to his craft and his country.
