Carmel CA radio disc jockey Dave Garver tries to reform his womanizing ways after his relationship with artist Tobie Williams ends. Tobie, who he considers the one who got away, reenters his life. Meanwhile, Dave starts a casual relationship with Evelyn Draper, a fan who frequently requests "Misty" on his radio show. As he reconnects with Tobie, his interest in Evelyn wanes. However, Evelyn's obsession with Dave grows, making it difficult for him to end their relationship.
