Jada Koren Pinkett Smith, a talented individual, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Robsol Grant Pinkett, Jr., a skilled contractor, and Adrienne Banfield Norris, a dedicated nurse, who unfortunately divorced shortly after their marriage. Her father, of African-American descent, and her mother, of Afro-Caribbean ancestry, with roots from Barbados and Jamaica, brought forth a unique blend of cultural heritage.
Jada's academic pursuits led her to major in dance and choreography at the prestigious Baltimore School for the Arts, where she had the opportunity to share the experience with none other than the renowned Tupac Shakur. Her time at the Baltimore School for the Arts was followed by a year at the North Carolina School of the Arts, before she decided to drop out and focus on her acting career.
Her big break in the entertainment industry came in 1991 when she was cast in the role of a college freshman on the popular television sitcom A Different World, which premiered in 1987. Two years later, she made her feature film debut in Menace II Society, a significant milestone in her acting journey.
Although she did not gain widespread recognition until her role opposite Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor, a comedy film released in 1996, Jada's talent and dedication to her craft continued to shine through.
In addition to her work in front of the camera, Jada has also explored her creative side by directing music videos. Her personal life is filled with love and joy, as she is married to the accomplished actor Will Smith, and they share two children, Jaden Smith and Willow Smith.
