J. Michael Vargas is a talented and accomplished narrative and documentary filmmaker hailing from Tampa, Florida. With a strong educational foundation, Michael earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film from the prestigious Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts, where he honed his craft as a film major.
Throughout his academic tenure, Michael directed a trifecta of short narratives, as well as a compelling short documentary that showcased his storytelling prowess. Beyond his own projects, Michael has had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of outside endeavors, including feature films, commercials, and promotional videos.
One of Michael's areas of expertise is cinematography, which he developed a keen interest in during his time at Florida State University. Under the guidance of renowned professionals Keith Slade, Rexford Metz, ASC, and Johnny E. Jensen, ASC, Michael refined his skills and gained valuable insight into the art of filmmaking.
