Anita O' Day: The Life of A Jazz Singer, a documentary co-directed by Ian McCrudden and Robbie Cavolina, garnered significant acclaim in 2008. It received a Grammy nomination for Best Long Form Music Video and won the International Press Academy's award for Best Documentary.
Ian McCrudden's journey began at Stanford University, where he was awarded the prestigious Golden Medal for non-fiction writing. His production of Night Baseball was honored at the National College Theater Festival, and Stanford University Press published his thesis on the esteemed author Samuel Beckett.
Throughout his illustrious career, McCrudden has directed numerous films, including Cowboys and Indians, Äntligen Midsommar - A Swedish Midsummer Comedy, Anita O' Day: The Life of A Jazz Singer, Islander, Trespassers, The Things We Carry, The Big Day, Mr. Smith Gets a Hustler, and Trailer The Movie. He has also directed original plays in the United States and abroad, with his most recent production being the acclaimed Patriotic Bitch Off-Broadway in NYC.
Ian McCrudden has collaborated on many of his film's scores and has released two albums: Start Over in March 2006 and Dream Anyway in November 2011.
Today, Ian resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.
