Biography

Ian Bogost is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of expertise and accomplishments. As a video game designer, critic, and researcher, he has made significant contributions to the field of game studies. Currently, he serves as a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a founding partner at Persuasive Games.

Bogost's research and writing focus on the expressive potential of video games, exploring their ability to tackle complex social and political issues. His creative practice is characterized by the development of games that address topics such as airport security, consumer debt, disaffected workers, the petroleum industry, suburban errands, pandemic flu, and tort reform.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Bogost is also a prolific author. He has written several books, including "Unit Operations: An Approach to Videogame Criticism" and "Persuasive Games: The Expressive Power of Videogames". He has also co-authored "Racing the Beam: The Atari Video Computer System" and "Newsgames: Journalism at Play".
