Helen Schneider's journey in Europe began in 1978 as part of her inaugural European music tour. This marked the beginning of a remarkable career that would soon be recognized with prestigious awards.
In 1982, after the success of her album Schneider with the Kick, which went gold, Helen shared the esteemed Golden Europa Award as Artist of the Year with the legendary John Lennon. She also became the first American to receive the International Artist of the Year Award from the German Phono-Academy, solidifying her position as a talented and innovative artist.
After a four-year hiatus from music, Helen pursued her passion for acting, enrolling in acting lessons in New York City from 1984 to 1986. Her impressive acting career has seen her take on a wide range of roles, including Sally Bowles and the MC in Cabaret, Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's German production of "Sunset Boulevard," Eva Péron in "Evita," Anne Sexton in "Transformations," Anna in "Seven Deadly Sins," Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate," Victor/Victoria in "Victor/Victoria," and Judy Garland in "End of the Rainbow." Her outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry earned her the DIVA Award.
In addition to her successful stage career, Helen has also appeared in films such as "Eddie and the Cruisers" and "Into the Beat," and is set to return to the big screen in 2023 with the film "Electric Child." She has been a guest on numerous television series, including the third installment of the popular ZDF series "Ku'Damm 63."
Beyond her careers in music and acting, Helen has always nurtured a passion for painting and drawing. In 2019, she illustrated and designed the cover for the first prize winner of the literary contest held by the publishing house CBS for "Lenny's Summertime Adventures." In 2022, Pegasus Books published The Colorful World of Frida Kato, the first book she has fully illustrated.
