Originally from Bergenfield, New Jersey, Harry was fascinated by movies at a young age. He turned his backyard into a film studio, creating dozens of Super 8 action and horror films by the time he was 17. This talent earned him the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Film Award, presented to him by legendary director Otto Preminger.
Moving to Hollywood, Harry developed a stand-up comedy act at the famous Comedy Store, quickly making a name for himself in the comedy circuit by headlining in Las Vegas and other major venues. He became a sought-after opening act for stars like Gloria Estefan, Liza Minnelli, The Beach Boys, the Pointer Sisters, Chuck Berry, and Rodney Dangerfield.
Rodney Dangerfield featured Harry in two of his HBO specials, earning him respect in the industry. Harry co-wrote and co-produced three of Rodney Dangerfield's movies, including "Ladybugs," "Meet Wally Sparks," and "My Five Wives." He worked closely with director Sidney Furie on all three films.
Harry made his feature directing debut with "The 4th Tenor," a romantic opera comedy starring Rodney Dangerfield and Robert Davi, released by Warner Bros. He followed this with "Back by Midnight," a prison comedy starring Randy Quaid, Kirstie Alley, Harland Williams, and Rodney Dangerfield.
In 2004, Warner Brothers and Franchise Pictures hired Harry to write and direct the family comedy "Funky Monkey." He also directed "Cloud 9," a sexy beach volleyball comedy written and produced by Al Ruddy, and "Funny Money," a wild farce starring Chevy Chase.
Harry has also worked in the horror genre, directing "Soul's Midnight" and "Fingerprints." He is currently an executive producer and show runner on "The Jadagrace Show" and recently wrapped producing "Sleeping Around."
In addition to his work behind the camera, Harry has also acted in several films and television shows. He appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's romantic comedy "Peggy Sue Got Married" and in the sci-fi cult film "The Seventh Sign."
