Biography

Hana Sofia Lopes, a Luxembourger actress of Portuguese and Canadian heritage, was born in Luxembourg in 1990. She pursued her passion for acting by graduating from Lisbon's Theatre and Film School in 2012 and subsequently studying at France's prestigious National Drama Academy in Paris, the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique de Paris (CNSAD).

Her early career in film began with Julian Temple's Sexual Healing, where she shared the screen with Vicky Krieps and Brendon Gleeson. Since 2013, she has appeared in over a dozen TV series across Portugal, Luxembourg, and Germany.

One of her notable roles was as the queen of Portugal in RTP's prime-time historical television series "Ministérios do Tempo". Her performance in the popular TV series "Coraçao d'Ouro", which is watched daily by 1.8 million people, has made her a household name in Portugal.

In 2018, she took on the leading female role in Marco Serafini's "Toy Gun", alongside John Hannah, Julian Sands, Federico Casteluccio, and Golden Globe winner Anthony Lapaglia. Her outstanding performance earned her a best actress nomination at the Luxembourg Film Awards, the "Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis".

Hana Sofia Lopes has recently been cast in Bruce McDonald's "Dreamland", alongside Juliette Lewis and Henry Rollins. With her extensive experience in both film and theater, she is a versatile actress who has honed her craft in languages such as French, Portuguese, German, English, Spanish, Dutch, and Luxembourgish. She currently resides between London, Paris, and Lisbon, continuing to captivate audiences with her talent.
