Gregory "Tremain" Merrell was born in Jackson, Mississippi, where his passion for acting and comedy first emerged at a remarkably young age. By the time he was just 16, he had already demonstrated a remarkable level of artistic talent and initiative by writing, directing, and starring in a drama piece titled "The Verse is Right", which was specifically requested for the National Baptist Youth Convention of America. This impressive achievement earned him an invitation to return the following year with another piece, "Messy People", which he also wrote, directed, and starred in. Tremain's educational pursuits took him to William Carey University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies with a Minor in Theatre. During his time at William Carey, he also became a licensed minister of the Gospel, which ultimately led him to incorporate his love of comedy into his sermons. The congregation and audience alike responded enthusiastically to his unique blend of humor and spirituality, and soon he was in high demand as a speaker. After much contemplation and prayer, Tremain decided to pursue a career as a Christian Comedian, leveraging his many theatrical accomplishments and stand-up comedy performances at esteemed venues such as The GoTown Comedy Club, The CrossRhodes Christian Lounge, The Punchline Comedy Club, the 1st Annual ITZ Christian Comedy Conference, and even "The 2008 Heavy Hitter's Christian Comedy Tour". In addition to his comedy work, Tremain has also explored other creative outlets, including color commentary for various wrestling promotions and ring announcing for the Mississippi Golden Gloves Tournament, a role he held for several years before being asked to become the Ring Announcer for Rite Hook Boxing Promotions. Ultimately, Tremain hopes to establish himself as a master of comedic timing and a respected figure in the world of Christian comedy.
