Gloria Lynne Henry, a talented individual, was born in the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan. Her journey in the world of acting began at a remarkably young age, with her first stage performance taking place when she was just eight years old. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater arts at Wayne State University, Gloria went on to create a children's theater program at the Attic Theater in Detroit, further showcasing her dedication to the arts.
In addition to her work on stage, Gloria has also had the opportunity to travel with the international group "Up With People" on their European tour, performing in various Equity playhouses across the United States. Her early experience in front of the camera came when she landed a small role in the TV movie "Bare Essence" in 1982. However, it wasn't until 1994 that she gained widespread recognition, particularly among horror and science fiction fans, after co-starring in the film "Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead."
Director Don Coscarelli cast Gloria in the role of Rocky primarily due to her tough appearance and her background in martial arts. To date, this remains her most significant cinematic performance, and she continues to attend horror conventions and Phantasm reunions to meet her numerous fans. Since her appearance in "Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead," Gloria has had a few brief roles in films such as "The Devil's Advocate" and "The Horse Whisperer." More recently, she has been working on a variety of national commercials.
Beyond her acting career, Gloria has also showcased her musical talents as the lead singer of the critically acclaimed funk/rock band "Chatter," which was originally formed by her cousin Brian Hardgroove, a musician with extensive credits. Gloria currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and son, where she continues to pursue her passions in the entertainment industry.
