Giselle Fernandez was born on May 15th, 1961, in Mexico, but her childhood and upbringing took place in the sun-kissed environment of Southern California.
Fernandez pursued a degree in Journalism at Sacramento State University, ultimately graduating in 1982. The following year, she landed her first television gig in Pueblo, Colorado, where she remained until 1985, when she relocated back to Los Angeles.
Fernandez's professional journey continued as she worked at KTLA from 1985 to 1987, before taking on a new challenge in Chicago. However, her stay in the Windy City was short-lived, as she made the move to Miami in 1989.
Giselle's big break came when she secured a national news position in New York. During her time in the city that never sleeps, she worked for both CBS News and NBC News. At CBS, she had the distinction of anchoring "The CBS Evening News", "CBS News this Morning", and the "CBS Weekend News". Additionally, she contributed to network news for NBC, covering programs such as "Today" and "NBC Nightly News".
In 1997, Fernandez returned to Los Angeles to host an entertainment news magazine show known as "Access Hollywood", which premiered in 1996. After a four-year tenure, she left the program in 1999 and returned to KTLA in 2002.
