Biography

Gio's journey in the world of acting began with his early interactions in two short plays, where he took on supporting roles and discovered his ability to captivate the audience's attention and elicit laughter. These experiences left a lasting impression on him.

During his teenage years, Gio developed a passion for movies, particularly films like "Back to the Future", "Indiana Jones", and the comedic works of Jerry Lewis. However, growing up in a small town with limited access to artistic programs and opportunities, he was left to explore his creative side through typical teenage antics until he befriended the talented sons of Judy Russell at Enchainement Dance Studio in Prince George, BC.

At the studio, Gio honed his skills in singing, dancing, and acting, performing in numerous local musical productions. This exposure to the performing arts sparked a sense of direction and purpose in his life.

As he entered his final year of high school, Gio found himself directionless and uncertain about his future. It was his high school principal who suggested he explore a small theatre school, an idea that resonated deeply with him. This chance encounter opened his eyes to the possibility of making a living doing what he loved - acting.

Gio went on to study acting at Rosebud School of the Arts in Alberta, where he completed his studies and began working in the theatre in Western Canada. He toured with a devised theatre company called Trickster Theatre, creating new material with kids and performing it weekly during the school year. During the summer, he acted on both the main and studio stage at Rosebud Theatre.

His journey continued in Vancouver, BC, where he worked extensively in the theatre, starring in productions such as "Mary's Wedding" at Gateway Theatre, "Almost Maine", "The Whipping Man", "Doubt", and "My Name Is Asher Lev" at Pacific Theatre, "Over the River and Through the Woods", and "Amadeus", at Chemainus Theatre, and "Fiddler on the Roof", and "Confessions of a Paperboy" at Rosebud Theatre.

In addition to his work in the theatre, Gio began to pursue a career in Film and TV, with credits including "Life XP", "My True Story", "Supernatural", "All of My Heart 3", "Intruders", "Aftermath", "The Romeo Section", "When Calls The Heart", and the lead role in the feature "She Has A Name" (available on Amazon Prime).

As time passed, Gio realized that Vancouver had a glass ceiling, and if he wanted to take a risk and achieve something truly remarkable, he would need to venture to where the action was. He and his wife made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, CA.

Now, in LA, Gio has expanded his scope of work, not only acting but also creating, directing, and producing projects. With his experience, expertise, and a more refined palette of interests, he is eager to share his work with others and hopes you will enjoy his journey.
