Biography

Geraint Wyn Davies was born on April 20, 1957, in Swansea, Wales, to a semi-retired Welsh congregational minister father and a retired teacher mother who was the headmistress at his first school.

At the age of seven, his family moved to Canada, where he attended Upper Canada College and the University of Western Ontario, studying business and economics before pursuing his acting career.

Geraint's early interest in acting was sparked at the age of 12 when he appeared in a school production of "Lord of the Flies". His professional stage debut was in 1976 in Quebec City, where he appeared in "The Fantasticks", "Red Emma", and "A Midsummer's Night Dream".

He then moved to England, where he played the lead in "The Last Englishman". He spent two seasons with Wales' leading theatre company, Theatre Clwyd, touring the United Kingdom in "Enemy of the People" and "Hamlet", which earned him the Regional Theatre Best Actor Award.

Geraint has performed at various festivals and theatres, including the Shaw Festival, the Stratford Festival of Canada, the Mark Taper Forum Lincoln Center, and the Chichester Festival. Some of his notable roles include "The Music Cure", "Candida", "Cyrano de Bergerac", "The Vortex", "Goodnight Disgrace", "Henry V", and "The Three Musketeers".

In addition to his stage work, Geraint has also directed multiple episodes of TV shows such as "Forever Knight", "Black Harbour", "Pit Pony", "Power Play", and "North of 60". He has also directed a play, "Joy of the Desolate", and is currently working on a project called "Horatio Salt", a collection of four short films.

Geraint is a self-taught musician and has played the piano in the TV show "Forever Knight" and co-written a song for the episode "Baby Baby". He has produced a CD of his own works, "Bar Talk", with proceeds going to charity. He has also lent his voice to two audio books, "Great American Suspense" and "Great Classic Hauntings".

Geraint is divorced from artist Alana Guinn and they have two children, Galen and Pyper. He became a U.S. citizen in 2006 and was sworn in at the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg presiding over the ceremony.
