Additionally, he is a talented musician and a highly accomplished martial artist and instructor.
Gary's early professional career was influenced by his family background in the emergency services and military. As a teenager, he began his acting journey, but his experiences in these fields ultimately shaped his career choices. He served as a sworn police officer in two countries, held the role of Paramedic, Tactical Combat Medic, and Rescue Technician, and started working for Fire Departments in the 1990s, eventually rising to the position of Deputy Fire Chief.
Gary is also the Chief of the United Nations recognized international disaster response team, The Emergency Response Team Search and Rescue (ERT SAR). He has led numerous disaster medical and rescue missions worldwide, as well as other all-hazard deployments. His extensive experience in emergency response has honed his skills and prepared him for a wide range of situations.
Gary's ancestry is a unique blend of English and Chinese, and he is married to Virginia, a former police officer who is now a nurse. They have two children together.
