Biography

Fiona Mackenzie is a seasoned television journalist and Hollywood studio executive with a wealth of experience spanning over two decades. Her impressive career has seen her excel in various roles, including development, writing, casting, financing, and production of studio and independent films, as well as series television.

In 2018, Fiona founded Ascent Media Group (AMG),an innovative IP development company, with the mission to produce high-quality entertainment with a global perspective. Since its inception, AMG has amassed a diverse slate of features and scripted series in development, partnering with esteemed producers, production companies, and financiers.

Throughout her illustrious career, Fiona has been an esteemed panelist and guest at numerous prominent film and television markets, including the Dubai Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, AFM, MIP TV, Real Screen, and many more.

Prior to launching AMG, Fiona held senior-level creative and executive positions at Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox, overseeing projects with budgets ranging from 8 million to 100 million USD. At Sony, she served as the Vice President of Features and Television at Turman Morrison, where she was responsible for developing Oscar-nominated projects, including "American History X".

Fiona also held an in-house producing deal with Davis Entertainment at 20th Century Fox, further solidifying her reputation as a talented and versatile executive.

Some of her notable projects include "Warrior Queen", which she originally produced at Paramount Pictures in partnership with Robert De Niro's Tribeca Films, and the first season of the hit series "The Highlander" in Paris, produced by Gaumont/Lionsgate.

Early in her career, Fiona began her journey in Paris, where she founded her first production company, producing and writing for esteemed networks such as CNN, Canal Plus, and ABC. Prior to entering the world of journalism, Fiona earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and later her Master's degree from Georgetown University's Graduate School of Foreign Service in Washington D.C.

Today, Fiona is a dual US/UK citizen, dividing her time between Los Angeles and London.
