In addition to his work as an actor, Ernest has also made a significant impact as a writer and director, bringing his unique vision to the big and small screens. He has penned the scripts for several independent films, including Time and Charges (2013) and Heavenly Angle (2014),both of which he also directed. Furthermore, he has costarred with the esteemed NYPD Blue Emmy winner Gordon Clapp in The Constituent (2024),a film based on his own one-act play.
