Eric, a dynamic and versatile individual, has spent over five decades navigating the realms of filmmaking, writing, and marketing. As a young adult, he wrote the influential guide "How to Pick Up Girls" at the age of twenty-four, shortly after graduating from New York University. The book's immense success, selling over three million copies, inspired numerous imitators and an adaptation in 1978 Des starringi Arnaz Jr.
Eric's career trajectory continued to ascend as he joined Young & Rubicam, rising through the ranks to become Executive Creative Director and Executive Vice Chairman. During his tenure at Y&R, he conceived iconic advertising campaigns, including "Be A Pepper" for Dr. Pepper and "Betcha Bite a Chip" for Chips Ahoy. His advertising work garnered numerous accolades, including a Gold and Silver Lion at Cannes.
In the 1990s, Eric transitioned to screenwriting and founded The Tenafly Film Company, where he has written, directed, and produced several films. His work has received widespread acclaim, with "Second Best" being an official selection at Sundance, Austin, and The Hamptons Film Festivals. The New York Times praised the film as "A funny bitter understanding of male competition and ego. This smart-enough-to-make-you-squirm comedy is ripe with brutal honesty and perverse glee."
Eric's most recent effort, "Emily and Tim," won Best Screenplay at the 2015 Rhode Island Film Festival and was nominated for the Grand Prix des Amériques at the Montreal World Film Festival. The film was also distributed through Netflix.
When not working on his numerous screenplays, Eric is an avid golfer and devoted family man, belonging to three country clubs and having four children with his wife of nearly fifty years, Joanna.
