Born in Moscow, Russia in 1981, Elena Lev embarked on a remarkable journey to become a skilled rhythmic gymnast, receiving guidance and mentorship from her mother, Elena Lev Senior, who played a pivotal role in her early training. As she honed her craft, Elena developed a distinctive hula hoop act that seamlessly integrated gymnastics and contortion, showcasing her exceptional flexibility and coordination.
Elena's big break arrived when she was invited to join the esteemed Alegría touring troupe of Cirque du Soleil, a prestigious honor that marked the beginning of a six-year tenure from 1994 to 2000. During this period, she had the opportunity to perform alongside some of the world's most talented artists and honed her skills in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
In 2002, Elena briefly joined the Quidam troupe, further expanding her repertoire and gaining valuable experience. Her impressive resume also includes a stint with Cirque du Soleil's Wintuk, which premiered at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a testament to her versatility and adaptability as a performer.
