Biography

Dustin Robert Sorg, also known as Dusty Sorg, was born and raised in the small rural town of Hugo, Minnesota, which lies just outside of St. Paul. His life was forever changed when he watched the iconic action film Die Hard at the tender age of twelve, sparking an instant passion within him to pursue a career in acting.

As he grew older, Dusty began to hone his craft by performing in local church productions and high school plays, eventually graduating to area playhouses and theater companies around the Twin Cities. He continued to refine his skills by studying under the guidance of Sandra K. Horner at the Hennepin Center of the Arts in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In the summer of 1999, Dusty made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, California, where he quickly found success in the competitive entertainment industry. His first major gig was a national TV commercial for McDonald's, marking the beginning of a long list of notable advertising campaigns.

In addition to his commercial work, Dusty also spent time honing his stand-up comedy skills by answering phones at The World Famous Comedy Store, a legendary comedy club in Los Angeles. This experience allowed him to develop his unique, awkward style, which would later become a hallmark of his comedic performances.

Dusty's breakthrough role came in 2010 when he starred as Vernon Butts, a main accomplice of the notorious serial killer William Bonin, in the cult horror film Freeway Killer. He has since appeared in a wide range of film and television projects, including Disney's John Carter, HBO's critically acclaimed sci-fi western Westworld, and the ABC action-comedy series Stumptown, which is based on the popular graphic novel by Greg Rucka.

In recognition of his outstanding performance in the indie-action film Down and Dangerous, Dusty was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2013 Maverick Movie Awards. He shared the honor with notable actors Judd Nelson and Ross Marquand.
