Biography

Dorothea Seltzer, the American actress who would later be known as Dorothy Christy, was born in the city of Reading, Pennsylvania. This talented thespian would go on to collaborate with some of the most iconic figures in the world of cinema, including the renowned comedian and social commentator Will Rogers, the pioneering silent film star Buster Keaton, the beloved comedic duo the Marx brothers, and the legendary comedic duo Laurel and Hardy, to name just a few. In addition to her impressive roster of co-stars, Christy also had the unique opportunity to work alongside the legendary singing cowboy himself, Gene Autry. After a long and storied career, Dorothy Christy passed away at the age of 70 in the coastal city of Santa Monica, California.
