Denai Gracie has spent over two decades honing her craft in the film industry, seamlessly transitioning between on-screen and behind-the-scenes roles.
Initially recognized for her exceptional producing skills within the local industry, Denai is now evolving her passion for storytelling into writing and directing roles.
Most recently, she made a significant mark by writing and directing The Staircase, an episode of the horror thriller anthology Deadhouse Dark, which earned official selection at Canneseries 2020, and is set to premiere globally as a Shudder Original Series in 2021.
Throughout her illustrious career, Denai has worked on numerous high-profile television commercials, short films, and feature-length productions, including Shift, Infini, Forbidden Ground, Gabriel, and A Perfect Life.
In fact, it was writing that initially ignited Denai's directorial passion, as she penned the London storyline in her first feature, Forbidden Ground. This notable achievement led to the film's successful distribution to reputable studios worldwide, including Lionsgate (USA),EOne (UK),and Pinnacle (Australia).
Denai's impressive production credits also include the dystopic sci-fi short Shift, which concluded its festival run with a notable mention as one of the top shorts at the Toronto After Dark Festival in 2018. Notably, this short is being adapted into a series.
Several of Denai's screenplays have already garnered international interest, including the horror thriller feature Kamera 12, the show jumping romance feature One Eight Zero, and the mystery action thriller series, The Habitat.
Beyond mere entertainment, Denai has a unique ability to craft immersive worlds. She is currently developing a diverse slate of features and series, all linked by characters, allowing audiences to engage in spin-off stories, sequels, and prequels within her refreshingly original scarlet fire universe.
