David Lee Madison's fascination with film began at a remarkably young age. By the time he was five years old, he had already developed a passion for the original Universal horror films. This early exposure to the horror genre would later influence his own work as a filmmaker. Madison's first foray into filmmaking came when he was just nine years old, serving as an extra in the John Ritter film Hero at Large, directed by Martin Davidson.
Throughout his teenage years, Madison continued to pursue his passion for acting, appearing in Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and James Lemmo's Heart, starring Brad Davis. His most recent work includes Emerging Past, a film he produced and in which he appears alongside his childhood idol, Stephen Geoffreys, in a humorous scene.
Madison's most notable achievement is his cult classic film, Mr. Hush, which he wrote, produced, and directed. The film stars Brad Loree, Stephen Geoffreys, and Steve Dash, and enjoyed a limited theatrical run in several major cities across the United States. Mr. Hush was later released on DVD and Blu-ray and spent six weeks on Redbox's top 10 list for genre films. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences even requested a copy of the Mr. Hush script to be placed in the permanent core collection of the Margaret Herrick Library.
In addition to his work in film, Madison has also started a podcast/radio show titled The End of the Night, which has featured a wide range of guests, including Corey Feldman, Doug Bradley, David Naughton, Brian O'Halloran, and many others.
Madison's most recent film, Middle Village, premiered at the historic Cinemart Theater in Queens, New York, and has received overwhelmingly positive reviews. The film has also garnered awards from the Forwardian Film Festival and was featured on whatchareading.com's list of the best films of 2015. Middle Village features a talented cast, including Brian O'Halloran, Ray Abruzzo, Scott Schiaffo, and WWE Superstar Gene Snisky.
In addition to his work in film, Madison has also appeared in several other projects, including Tom Holland's Your So Cool Brewster! The Story of Fright Night and Stevan Mena's Malevolence 3: Killer. His latest film, Wit's End, is scheduled for release in 2020, along with a film titled Darkness Waits, directed by Libby McDermott and featuring Conrad Brook's last performance.
