David Kennard is a seasoned professional with over 45 years of international experience as a producer, writer, director, and communications consultant. He has had a leading role in the creation of over 100 non-fiction television specials, books, multimedia products, and media campaigns, and has produced 15 major international documentary series.
Throughout his career, Kennard has worked on numerous notable projects, including "The Ascent of Man" with Jacob Bronowski, "Connections" with James Burke, "Cosmos" with Carl Sagan, "We The People" with Peter Jennings, "The Hero's Journey" with Joseph Campbell, "The Heart of Healing" hosted by Jane Seymour, "The Promise of Play" with Jane Goodall, "Amelia Earhart's Last Flight" co-produced with the Smithsonian Institution, "2001: HAL's Legacy" with Arthur C. Clarke, "ReCreating America & Reinventing Yourself" (two documentaries on creativity),"John Cleese's Wine for the Confused", "Global Warming: the Signs and the Science" hosted by Alanis Morrisette, "Keeping Score: the Great Symphonies" with Michael Tilson Thomas, and "A Year in Burgundy & A Year in Champagne" (recent feature documentaries).
Kennard's work has garnered numerous prestigious awards, including the National Emmy, International Emmy, Dupont Columbia, American Historical Association, National Education Film Festival, International Science Film Festival, Houston Worldfest, Alexander Hamilton, ASCAP Deems Taylor, Oenovideo, Cine Golden Eagle, BAFTA, and Peabody Awards.
As the Founder and President of InCA (Independent Communications Associates Inc.),a worldwide non-fiction production company, Kennard has overseen the production of documentary excellence for 30 years, with offices in San Francisco, Toulouse, and Nairobi. He is fluent in three languages and has filmed in 41 countries.
Kennard holds an MA and BA in Modern Languages from Oxford, and a DAP Diploma from the Sorbonne, University of Paris. He also spent a year abroad in the MBA (International Studies) program at Indiana University.
In his personal life, Kennard is married with four children and five grandchildren, and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
